Screening individuals for security threats is problematic at best using conventional technologies. Conventional X-ray (backscatter) and millimeter wave machines fail to provide enough penetration and resolution to identify all threats, and metal detectors can not identify the full range of potential threats. Recognizing the need for a better way to screen individuals for security risks, Symmetry Group offers a new system which improves upon the earlier generation of backscatter x-ray devices.
The ODIN Personnel Screening System manufactured by Valley Forge Composites Technologies is an Ultra-Low Dose Digital Radiographic Imaging System. It is a transmission system, not a backscatter system, and as such provides the ability to see through individuals, or bags, improving upon the limited field of view and depth of penetration of conventional backscatter devices while improving speed and accuracy of detection.
